Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) on Saturday predicted former President Donald Trump will win Virginia during a Women for Trump rally in Charlottesville.
Stefanik made her remarks at the Women for Trump rally held at the Trump Winery in Charlottesville by Rally Virginia amid the release of polling that shows a statistical tie between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, who has sought to reverse the loss of Democratic support in Virginia that reportedly helped prompt President Joe Biden to drop his bid for reelection.
The Republican claimed she was interviewed prior to the rally by a reporter who “incorrectly” stated that “Virginia is a blue state.”
Prompting cheers from the crowd, “I reminded them we have a Republican governor in Virginia, we have a Republican attorney general in Virginia. We’ve got congressional seats in Virginia.”
Referring to the polling, she said, “President Trump is polling within the margin of error, [and] we are going to win Virginia. You are hearing it here first.”

Polling released on Saturday showed Trump and Harris statistically tied in Virginia, with the vice president supported by 47 percent of the commonwealth’s voters and the former president at 46 percent of support in a race that included third-party candidates.
The pollsters received similar results when it restricted respondents to a head-to-head race, finding Harris with the support of 48 percent while 46 percent supported Trump. The margin of error for the survey was reported to be 3 percent, meaning the candidates were still statistically tied.
Speaking at the event, Stefanik said the 2024 presidential election will be unlike any other.
“We say every election is the most important election of our lifetime but this one really is,” said Stefanik, who later described the event’s turnout as “incredible” in a post to the social media platform X.
She said at the rally, “Women are going to make our voices heard to Virginia from New York that we will save this country by electing President Trump.”

The representative also argued women should vote for Trump based on his economic record, which she noted included an “historic number of women in the workforce, wage increases, salary increases for working women,” as well as a doubling of the child tax credit. She declared, “He is a pro-family, pro-women president.”
Harris currently leads Trump in Pennsylvania by 4.5 percent in the RealClearPolling average of head-to-head surveys.
